larry gerston joins us now. good morning, larry. as we watched all of those returns come in, folks definitely said that they wanted more money for education and a number of other things. is the problem solved? >> look, there's been some relief. no question. certainly in the short-term if we can use that description. proposition 30 will inject wean $7 billion and $9 billion in education over the next seven years. money that almost everyone said was badly needed. some other good budget news as well. passage of proposition 39. that's going to close a massive corporate tax loophole. that's important bringing in another billion dollars in and proposition of 36 is another one revising the three strikes that we've talked about that will enable 4,000 people now third strike inmates who have been in prison for nonviolent crimes to apply for release. when they do so, they'll be save the state $50,000 per inmate. that chunk of change multiplied toward 4,000 is $200 million a year. the state treasury will get a few bucks in the short-term. >> w
